Relational vs Graph Data Modeling
Every database has its building blocks (i.e. data objects, their associations, their governing rules) and a way of organizing them, like mapping out a diagram of how the data will be stored and associated with one another; this is the essence of data modeling. In other words, it is a way to organize and define our data and the relationships in between, by giving it a structure. Ultimately, the creation of an abstract model like such provides guidance on how the actual database will be built.

Introduction to Graph Databases
A graph is built from a collection of nodes and relationships. Entities such as people, locations, items, or categories of data are represented by nodes; and the association between them reflects a relationship. A versatile structure like a graph enables us to model real-world applications–computer networks, social media recommendation engines, bitcoin blockchains, and more. Basing this very structure as a template, we can bring it to life by performing C.R.U.D operations through a unique management system–a graph database.

Indirection: The Unsung Hero Of Software Engineering
Abstraction is a principle that enables engineers to create reusable, multipurpose modules throughout their software systems, and both abstraction and indirection are crucial concepts in scalable, robust system development. However, in software engineering, indirection is ultimately the driver for implementing highly decoupled components that perform separate tasks, bringing with it numerous additional organization and cross-team benefits as well.

Running on Multiple Tracks - The Guard, the Suspended, and the Spin
The guarded suspension pattern is a concurrent pattern which allows a thread that obtained a lock to suspend its execution and temporarily release the lock, waiting for a condition to be satisfied before proceeding any further within the critical section (re-acquiring the lock.)

Microservices: Friend And Foe
Properly implemented, microservices can be highly beneficial for an organization, however, beware of the buzz. Few things in IT are low cost/high value, and this is especially true of a microservices architecture.

Going Meta - No Iterations, and No Conditions, Please (continued)
As we’ve seen, there is a way to write consecutive numbers without loops and conditions if we can find an equivalent way to express them that is broken into a product with a sum representing the number of cross calls.

No Iterations, and No Conditions, Please
One day, what was pretty much a homework question popped up on my Quora feed. The question was “Can one write Java code that prints 1 through 100 without using any loop or conditions?”. Straightforward question with more or less inspired responses, each of them more or less wrong.

You probably don't need Redux anymore
Redux is a great tool, but given today's React ecosystem, it may not be a necessary part of your architecture.

Why should I consider React + Redux?
When evaluating tools, it helps not to view them in isolation. Just as important as the tool itself, is the ecosystem that surrounds it and how active the community is. Avoid statements like, "Vue is smaller than React and performs better". That may be true, but it’s unfair to base your decision on a few quantitative metrics, unless they’re extremely important to you. Most of the time, it’s the stuff that can’t be quantified that really matters in your every-day development cycle.
